Healing from Trauma with Specialized Care

Navigating the aftermath of trauma can feel like relief is impossible. What I have found, is that people want to heal, but they aren’t sure how to heal. The internet is full of misinformation about trauma, as well. Of course you feel stuck! You are anxious, exhausted, questioning whether your trauma was “bad enough”, and you have no idea where to go next.

So you go online, only to find about 700 different recommendations and promises. Overwhelmed, you come to the conclusion that healing either isn’t possible, or it’s at least not possible for you; and you continue to suffer in silence.

But trauma doesn’t have to define your life or your future. With the right support and specialized care, there is hope for deep healing.

I’m honored to share that I’ve taken a significant step in furthering my commitment to trauma recovery by becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. This certification reflects my dedication to offering the most compassionate, effective, and trauma-informed care possible, ensuring that I can meet my clients where they are with the knowledge and tools needed to guide them on their healing journey.

What Does It Mean to Be a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional?

The Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) certification is a rigorous training program designed to equip therapists with advanced skills and knowledge in treating trauma. Trauma is complex and often deeply personal, manifesting differently for each individual. This certification focuses on understanding how trauma impacts the brain and body, and how to effectively work with those effects to foster healing.

As a CCTP, I have specialized training in identifying the unique ways trauma can show up in a person’s life—whether through flashbacks, nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, or difficulties in relationships. I’m also trained in evidence-based approaches that go beyond talk therapy, including body-centered techniques, to help clients not just understand their trauma, but also begin to release it from where it’s stored in the body.

Why Trauma-Specific Care Matters

Not all therapy is created equal, especially when it comes to trauma. The deep emotional wounds that trauma leaves behind require more than just a supportive listener. Trauma-informed care means recognizing the complex and often hidden ways that trauma affects someone’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and doing so with a delicate balance of compassion, understanding, and boundaries.

With my certification as a CCTP, I am better equipped to help clients process their trauma safely and effectively. Trauma work can often bring up difficult emotions, so it’s crucial to have a therapist who understands how to create a safe, supportive environment and understand the appropriate pace that encourages healing without retraumatization.

How Trauma Shows Up in the Body

Trauma isn’t just something we think about—it’s something we feel, often deeply within our bodies. When we’ve experienced trauma, our nervous system can get stuck in fight, flight, or freeze responses, leaving us feeling anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Healing from trauma means reconnecting with the body, learning to feel safe within it again, and allowing it to process what it has been holding on to.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I work with my clients to help them reconnect with their bodies in gentle, trauma-sensitive ways. This might involve mindfulness practices, grounding techniques, or somatic therapy, all designed to help release the trauma stored in the body and restore a sense of calm and safety.

Your Healing Journey with Trauma-Informed Support

Whether you’ve experienced trauma in your childhood, through relationships, or in other areas of your life, it’s important to know that healing is possible. Trauma can make us feel disconnected from ourselves and others, but through compassionate, trauma-informed care, we can begin to rebuild those connections and find our way back to a place of safety and wholeness.

I am deeply committed to providing this level of care for my clients. Becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional is just one more way I am ensuring that you receive the highest quality of support and guidance on your healing journey. You deserve to feel safe, supported, and understood, and I am here to help you every step of the way.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your trauma recovery, I am here to offer the specialized, compassionate care you need. Let’s work together to create a space where you can heal and thrive.
